Success!! at Lamar Consolidated

GEORGE PARK-Freshman Jena Deitrick won runner of the day by pacing the cougars with a PR and a 2nd place overall finish in the girls' JV race. The JV girls and the varsity girls placed 3rd as teams. In the boys' race Junior Matt Cortez led the squad with a 3rd pace finish. Sophomore Chris Ysais placed 5th and Edgar Dominguez, Chris Valdez and Jonathan Silva placed 21st, 22nd and 23rd respectivelt to win the JV Boys' team championship. The varsity boys also ran well. They were led again by junior Errol Hampton and senior Bernardo Palomera who crossed the line in 8th and 9th both finishing in 17:33. Junior Shalin Dalal and freshman David Koistinen also ran great again finishing in 11th and 17th in 17:39 and 17:47 respectively. Since we've been looking for someone to fill the fifth man roll all season we had our 3rd different fifth man again this week. Shanup Dalal came up from JV and ran 18:38 which was good enough for 29th place.

Next week the cougars will time trial and on September 22nd the travel to Clear Lake for some relay cross country.
