KXC Alumni Update

LaGrange, GA (Nov. 7) - Former KXC runner Katherine Toy capped off a successful first college season by receiving All-Conference and All-Freshman honors as Huntingdon College captured the Great South Athletic Conference championships. Kathy placed seventh overall and third on the team with a 25:04.85 on the 6K course. Click here for complete results.

The Lady Hawks will compete next at the NCAA Division III Southeast Regionals in Greensboro, NC on Nov. 14. Click here for information.

D-Koi Going To Round Rock

Houston (Nov. 7) - District 23-5A champion and senior David Koistinen qualified for the state meet by placing 9th at the Region 3-5A championships held at North Harris College. Click here for complete results.

2009 District 23-5A Results

Missouri City (Oct. 23) - Congratulations to senior David Koistinen for capturing the district title in course record time. Senior Abel Simie took third. The boys gave a valiant effort but came up just a couple points short of a team title behind a much-improved Clements squad. In the girls race, senior Hiba Kreidie took seventh place after returning from injury. Fab freshman Ana Koistinen took ninth place. The girls team came in second behind a dominant Clements squad. 10/09 HBU Invitational (HBU Campus) - Postponed to 10/10 due to weather (team did not compete due to schedule conflicts)
10/23 District 23-5A Championships (Missouri City Community Park) - Article and partial results
11/07 Region 3-5A Championships (North Harris College)
11/14 State Championships (Old Settlers Park, Round Rock)

The squad returns two standout seniors with David Koistinen for the boys, and Hiba Kreidie for the girls. David is a favorite to go to state while Hiba is favored to capture the district title. Be sure to get out there and cheer on your Coogs!

District 23-5A Track Results

Missouri City (Apr. 16) - Junior David Koistinen captured the boys 3200m title, and was runner-up in the 1600m race. Senior Katherine Toy took third place in the girls 3200m final. Both David and Katherine qualified for Regionals in their respective events. In the subvarsity races, junior Joe Green was runner-up in the boys 3200m final. The JV girls squad took home the district title led by sophomore Kellsie Winkler who won the girls 3200m race and anchored the title-clinching 4 x 400m relay.

The awards are given to students who, in the previous school year, received all A's or maintained a minimum 4.7 GPA with no grade lower than 80. Regional Results

Houston (Nov. 8) - The Coogs concluded their cross country season with the Region III Championships at North Harris College. The varsity girls squad came in 14th out of 24 schools and obtained some redemption by topping Clements (15th) who defeated Kempner at district. The girls were led by junior Hiba Kreidie and senior Katherine Toy with fab freshman Jaclyn Amadio and senior Gina Keidel close behind. The varsity boys finished 16th out of 24 schools, and were led by juniors David Koistinen and Abel Simie. Both were only about a half-minute from qualifying for state. Region III Championships

The varsity girls and varsity boys will be competing in Regionals at North Harris College (also called Lone Star College North Harris) on Saturday, November 8. The 5A schools are going last this year with the girls race starting at 1:20pm and the boys race at 1:40pm. Click here for more information. Be sure to arrive early for parking.
