Region III-5A Championships

The Running Cougs will go to North Harris County Community College again this Saturday to compete for a shot at the UIL State Championship on November 11th. The Cougar Harriers have had very good experience with the regional meet course, the girls finished 3rd on the very same course at the Aldine Invitational last month. Goal times are the main focus for the runners this week as they have been preparing for huge PRs on the flat, fast course.

The varsity girls will run first at 10:50 with the boys race starting only 20 minutes later at 11:10am. Kingwood, the number 1 ranked girls team in the state and Cinco Ranch, the regional champs from 2005 will be competing. The top 3 teams and the top 10 individuals will advance to next weekend's state championship in Roundrock. Junior Errol Hampton's goal time will likely get him in the top ten on Saturday. He just has to hit that time!
