Huge improvements at 5k Time Trial

SLMS - After getting a late start and poor turnout for the second 5k test of the summer, the morning turned out pretty good. Only six boys showed up for the workout but 83.3% of them improved their times from two weeks ago. Junior Allen Livingston led the small group followed by junior Bernardo Palomera.

Bernardo's Beach Day is Sunday and we were not able to plan well due to a lack of attendance. I will be in contact with most of you but if you do not hear from me before Sunday make sure you bring whatever it is you would like to eat and drink after the run. We will have most of the supplies. We are leaving Kempner High School at 6:30am, so don't be late. I will be leaving the beach before 2:00pm so make sure you have a ride and permission to go.

July 4th is the Freedom 5k at Lost Creek Park in First Colony. I'd like everyone to register for the race. It is our mid-summer race and a crucial checkpoint for our training plan. Click HERE for more information and a registration link.

Week of June 20th

We are meeting at Eldridge Park this week. Tuesday's breakfast will be pancakes once again and sign-ups for Bernardo's Beach Day are this week. We need people who can drive to Surfside Beach which is about an hour away.

ON FRIDAY we will meet at Sugar Land Middle School again for our 5k threshhold run on the Carol Williams course. Chris Pyne believes he can break 18 minutes this time out! He used to spell his name with a Y back when his ancestors lived in England...

We are in our 4th week of the summer already and are doing so much better than we did last summer. Remember that if you train like a champion you will be a champion!
