Sub-Varsity opens the season well at Elkins

ELKINS-The girls and boys teams traveled to Elkins HS to begin here season yesterday and were the boys were led by sophomore Allen Livingston and freshman Josh Perez. Livingston placed first in the JV 1600m cruising to a 5:18 win and also finished second in the JV 800m. Perez came up with two wins in the freshman division winning the 800m and the 1600m. Freshman Juan Trujillo placed first in the 3200m as well.

Freshman Zelda Abadom proved she was serious when she won the 800m run in 2:36, split 64 in the 400m Dash and anchored the 1600m Relay.

Spring Relays springs the varstiy boys into action

SPRING, TX - Saturday was a day of beginnings. The varsity boys track team competed in their first meet and a lot of athletes competed in events for the first time. The day started at the long jump, where sophomore Bayo Adeyeba jumped 18-2 to set his season best, but he knows he can go further, as he did last year. The 3200m was the first running event with three cougars contesting. Chris Pine led the way with a PR of 10:24 which placed him 6th overall. Sophomores Allen Livingston and Bernardo Palomera also ran setting presonal records because it was their first time to compete in the event. The boys 4x100m relay slipped just under 44 seconds to set a tone for the season.
