A-Mach Cleans Up at Awards Banquet

KEMPNER - The KHS Spring Sports Banquet was dominated by Kempner distance athletes. The headliner was senior Amy Machemehl who won MVP of cross country, MVP of Girls' Basketball, Kempner Female Co-Athlete of the Year with Cammie Gilbert and she won the Kempner Athletic Booster Club Scholarship. Other award winners were sophmore Errol Hampton, boys' cross country MVP, junior Elizabeth Westlake won the Cougar Heart Award for cross country, sophomore Shalin Dalal won the Cougar Heart Award for Boys' cross country, Junior Allen Livingston won Boys' Track Distance Runner of the Year, senior Darius Wilson won Boys' Track MVP and senior Matt Davis won the Cougar Heart Award for boys track.

Next up for the program is the summer training regimen starting Monday, May 29th at the Kempner Track for the distance crew and non-distance tracksters will compete for the newly formed Sugar Land Canes Track Club. Practice for the Canes TC will begin Monday at 2:45pm. Fee for the track club is $90 and it is a USATF Sanctioned Program.

Awards Banquet Tonight!!

Cross Country will meet in the library at 6:30 to give out sub-varsity plaques and major awards. Boys track will meet in the fieldhouse at 6:45 as well. Dinner will be served at 7:15 in the Commons and the male and female athlete of the year will be presented following dinner.
