With a heavy heart I have to convey to you that the
Nike South Invitational is being cancelled. All races
on Friday and Saturday will not be run. The situation
is such that there is no way we can compete without
endangering everyone involved. I thank you for your
interest in our event. If you saw John Sullivan's
preview, our rating for this invitational is on a par
with Arcadia and right behind The Great American.
This is because of you and your commitment to high
school cross country.

Good luck with the rest of your seasons.

All Athletic Activities Cancelled

Fort Bend ISD has cancelled all activities and school will be closed Thursday and Friday. School will reopen Monday pending further notice. We will not be attending the Nike South Invitational and there will be no practices until Monday morning at 6:00, unless otherwise notified. If you have any questions please call Coach Dye's cell phone.

If you leave town you still need to do your runs. Thursday and Friday try to get in runs of at least 45 minutes with strides. Saturday or Sunday run for up to 90 minutes.

Nike South Invitational

The Cougars will compete in their most competitive race of the season on Saturday. Forty-five schools have entered the competition and bids to the Nike Team Nationals in Oregon are on the line. Here is the meet schedule:

Saturday, September 24th, 2005: PACKET PICK-UPS AT THE FIELD BEGINNING AT 7:00 am

• Varsity Elite (Boys) 5k - 8:00 am
• Varsity Elite (Girls) 5k - 8:30 am
• Varsity (Boys) 5k - 9:00 am *Kempner Boys
• Varsity (Girls) 5k - 9:30 am
• JV (Boys) 5k - 10:00 am *Kempner Boys
• Varsity (Girls) 2mi - 10:30 am *Kempner Girls
• JV (Girls) 2mi - 11:00 am *Kempner Girls
• Freshmen (boys only) 2mi - 11:30 am *Kempner Boys

AWARDS PRESENTATION TO FOLLOW

We will meet at Kempner High School at 6:15am and should arrive at Bear Branch Park around 7:30. This is the same park where our first meet was held so most of the team is familiar with the terrain. You can follow this link to get to the Nike South website.
