Livingston surprised by his success

Sophomore Allen Livingston really came through this year for the Cougars at district. Not only did he lead the team to victory but he won the individual championship in the junior varsity race. Allen took a minute to talk to KXC.

KXC: What’s your favorite movie? Why?
Allen Livingston: Fight Club, the plot is crazy.

KXC: What’s your favorite food? What about your favorite pre-race food?
AL: Mac and cheese, toast

KXC: What’s you favorite XC workout?
AL: 200 or 400 repeats, it feels good when you’re done and you feel fast.

KXC: What were your goals coming into this season?
AL: I just wanted to stay on the team. Now I want to be up their running with James, Evan and Bernardo.

KXC: What were some of the things that held you back this year?
AL: My ankle has been bothering me after I stepped in a hole right before district.

KXC: Which meet was your favorite meet?
AL: District by far, I also liked Rice. Me, Drake and Yuri were within 6 seconds of each other.

KXC: When you crossed the finish line at district what was the first thing that went through your mind?
AL: I’m first. I was ecstatic. I didn’t think I could do it, especially with my ankle hurting.

KXC: How fast will you need to run on the regional meet course to qualify for state?
AL: I think I can run below 19:20, but I don't think that will get me to state.

KXC: What do you want to do differently next year?
AL: Make varsity and be more consistent. We want to get revenge on Austin by getting a perfect score at district or at least put 5 guys in the top 10.

Allen will be running for the varsity squad at regionals on Staurday at North Harris Comunity College. We wish the Cougars the best of luck.
