District 23-5A Results

Missouri City (Oct. 24) - It was a clear and sunny afternoon for the cross country district championships at Missouri City Park.

Varsity girls started off the district races with junior Hiba Kreidie and senior Katherine Toy finishing in a virtual tie for 3rd place behind the winner and runner-up from Bush and Clements. Unfortunately, there are no ties in cross country; therefore, 3rd place was awarded to Katherine Toy by the finish line official and 4th place went to Hiba Kreidie. Freshman standout Jaclyn Amadio, and seniors Gina Keidel and Macy Ramos rounded out the top five for our girls. The varsity girls team qualified for regionals with a 2nd place finish behind a much improved Clements squad.

Varsity boys were up next with juniors David Koistinen and Abel Simie finishing 2nd and 3rd behind the defending champion from Travis. Junior Joe Green and seniors Evan Bogdan and Shiraz Ali rounded out the top five for our boys. The varsity boys team also qualified for regionals with a 2nd place finish behind an oustanding Travis squad.

JV girls were the third race with Elizabeth Galicia and Hailey Standford turning in good runs. Unfortunately, we did not have enough girls to qualify for a team competition. Hopefully, next year we'll field a full squad.

JV boys were next with newcomer Kris Schumake winning the district title. The boys also did not have enough runners to qualify for team competition with one of its key runners out due to injury.

Freshman boys had the top three finishers in the final race with district champion Travis Bogdan followed by Justin McDowell and Jorge Guerra. Tam Do and Keenan Bibbins rounded out the top five for our boys on the way to winning the team competition.

Here are the team's official times. Click here for complete results.
